The Matuzas collection of Lithuania

August 5, 2011 By Audrius Brazdeikis

I have got some exciting news to share with you all.

The Charles Matuzas Collection of Lithuania goes up for sale at Cherrystone in New York on September 13, 2011.

Charles (Kazys) Matuzas was one of the founders of the New York Lithuanian Philatelic Society as well as honorary member of the Chicago Lithuanian Philatelic Society. Along with other noted collectors, Matuzas published “The Postage Stamps of Lithuania” – the most comprehensive handbook to date on classic Lithuania stamps.

Charles Matuzas was one of the most diverse collectors. The Matuzas collection offered for sale includes rare postal history, varieties, essays, artists drawings, local issues, various cancellations, postal stationary, revenues, etc.
