Lithuania 1920 National Assembly Special Issue

A very scarce used set of National Assembly Special Issue, set of five blocks of four. This issue was limited to 2,000 sets only. Some defective stamps found in checking this issue were removed and destroyed, which further reduced the total amount (e.g. quantity of 50 sk. stamp is only 1890). Unsold item from the Kaunas Collection (Cherrystone May 2013), also unsold in June 2013 auction.

Lithuania 1933 transatlantic flight cover

The cover was carried on the first transatlantic flight from New York to Kaunas by a Lithuanian-American aviators Steponas “Stephen” Darius (1896-1933) and Stasys “Stanley” Girenas (1894-1933). This is private issue cover signed by both pilots. There were 150 private issue covers sold by pilots to support the the “Lituanica” transatlantic flight.

Lithuania 1924 Air Post variety

A rare no watermark variety of 1924 new currency air post issue (Mi 222Y), used. Michel catalog value 450 Euros. Lindberg certificate.

Lithuania 1935 Vaitkus Flight Cover

The 1935 flight registered cover No 703 carried on the second transatlantic flight from New York to Kaunas by a Lithuanian-American aviator Felix Waitkus (Feliksas Vaitkus). Franked with Mi 404. Similar cover No 731 addressed to ALTASS in Chicago, recently sold for $800.
