We are delighted to announce the commencement of our third virtual philatelic exhibition, LITHPEX-2024.
Under the patronage of the Lithuania Philatelic Society (LPS) and the Union of Lithuanian Philatelists (Lietuvos Filatelistų Sąjunga – LFS), this online exhibition will be accessible until March 11, 2024.
The exhibition features a diverse range of entries in various philatelic exhibiting classes, including traditional, postal history, open, picture postcard (new), and narrow theme (1-3 frames), as well as literature across competitive and non-competitive categories.
Subjects explored encompass transatlantic flights, ship mail, revenues, thematic exhibits, and the postal history of Naujoji Vilnia, Naumiestis, Širvinta, and Užnemunė. Noteworthy exhibits highlight Baltic States deportees’ mail, the German administration post in Lithuania during WWI, the inception of postal service in Latvia, and the allure of South American stamps.
We invite exhibition visitors to appreciate these rarely seen items, each telling a unique story that educates, entertains, and sparks interest for further research and discussion.
Our sincere hope is that this online event will contribute to the advancement of Lithuanian philately and encourage more individuals to share their collections and engage in exhibiting.
