The long-awaited LPS Journal No 241 featuring excellent research articles and other society news is now in print.
It has long been known that the Pajūris (Pajuris) issue of 1941 has been lost to the philatelic community except for the two known postally used covers. The articles by Dr. V Doniela, Dr. V. Geyfman in this issue adds depth to the story and brings us up to date with the most recent information on the Pajūris and Anykščiai overprints.
This journal issue also features an in depth review by Andrew Kapochunas on the Ob. Ost civilian post offices and their cancellations. Undoubtedly, it is one of the most comprehensive reviews of historic, ethnographic, cultural and census data, and remaining factual conflicts in the philatelic literature. This 20-page article is abundantly illustrated with maps, data tables, and also includes the most complete compilation of Ob. Ost cancellations to be found anywhere.
This new issue of the LPS Journal will be mailing in just a couple of weeks. The Journal is distributed free of charge to society members and major libraries in Lithuania.
If you haven’t already done so, please take a moment and join the Lithuania Philatelic Society.
