The 1920 Telšiai Postmaster’s provisional issue, hectographed on both plain and ruled paper with a blank space for eventual inscription of value. The stamps were hectographed on January 13, 1920 using the post office seal of Telšiai. Altogether 20-22 sheets of ordinary paper and 2-3 sheets of lined paper were divided into 18 sections –three horizontal rows of six stamps. The lined sheets had three stamps on which the paper fold crease is considered normal. The size of the stamp is 35 x48 mm.
There were some “errors” – the bottom row position 5 has “…SK” instead of standard “SK…SK”. Due to the fact that stamps were hand stamped and hand written, there are 18 identifiable varieties altogether. Stamps were in circulation on January 14 and 15, 1920, with a rare exception.
