general stamp collecting discussions

Everybody today is involved with computers and the internet. Shrinking collector base forced many stamp dealers and local clubs to embrace the Internet. Our hobby has found new life in the digital age, which is changing how we communicate and build our collections. Just look around: new specialized websites, philatelic forums, blogs, vast international marketplaces (e.g. eBay, Delcampe, etc), free online resources (catalogs, article archives, etc). Stamp collecting future looks brilliant.

Let me know your thoughts.

Collecting digital images of the rare and hard to find stamps has also become popular and certainly much more affordable. 8-)

Are you are referring to my 20+ GB folder of various scans of LT stamps and covers?

Access to high quality images certainly improved the collecting experience but also helps to weed out fakes and forgeries.
