Lūšė is a railway station ca. 20 km north-west of Mažeikiai, on a major rail route Liepaja – Šiauliai – Vilnius. Provisional postal markings show that a Lithuanian postal facility was at work at the Lūšė railway station in 1920, but as its name does not appear in the basic Pašto Valdyba documents for 1919 [...]

Surviving provisional postal markings demonstrate that in 1919 there was a Lithuanian postal facility at Gudžiūnai, which is a railway station on the Šiauliai – Kaišiadorys route, ca. 15 km south of Baisogala. Mikelmontas as a very short-lived Lithuanian place-name was known in czarist times as Michelmond. When the German troops moved into Žemaitija and Courland on April 27, 1915, within a few days Seda (Siady) was inspected by reco cavalrymen of 6th Cav. Div. (6. Kavallerie-Division).
